In June 2001 Ricky Holmström sent the first quotation to Ortivus AB in Stockholm. It was about a design assignment for three months. The company’s name was then Holmström Engineering. The assignments rolled in and Ricky contacted his friend Jerker Fjellman. Together they transformed the company in to a joint-stock company with 50% of the stocks each. The name was changed to Hofpartner AB, which stands for Holmström and Fjellman Partner AB.

Up till July 2006 the company was an engineering company which sold mechanical design and custom made machines. In July 2006 AMAL-SHAFT® was acquired, a strong trademark with a 50-year history. Five key employees at the former owner were offered employment and followed the product to Hofpartner.

In May 2007 Ricky acquired all stocks in the company and intensified the focus on reel shafts.

In May 2008 Ricky invented the smart lift Liongrip®. The lift has now been sold to various companies and the future looks bright.
